Most men will love anything his family chooses to give him for Christmas. However, it’s fun to do something different and fun. Instead of filling his stocking with items he expects to get each year, stuff it with surprises that will leave him smiling.
Wallet or Money Clip
Most men carry wallets, so give him a new one filled with lottery tickets, coins, dollar bills and gift cards (Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s or Sears). He may also appreciate homemade coupons for massages, foot rubs, a manicure, a car wash or anything else that will make his life easier or more comfortable. If he’s more of a money clip kind of guy, get him a new one and have it engraved.
Sports Items
Find small items related to his favorite sport. Items he’ll enjoy may include a sleeve of golf balls from Edwin Watts or his favorite golf store, a new golf glove, a coupon book for a bucket of balls at the driving range, a pair of sport socks, a baseball, baseball trading cards, a can of tennis balls and a sports bottle for long bicycling trips. If he’s a fisherman or hunter, he’ll like the latest and greatest fishing lure, pocket knife or leather man’s tool.
Personal Items
The man who works long hours will appreciate a coffee mug for the office. Get it personalized or find one with a funny saying that is appropriate for his position. Shoelaces for sneakers and dress shoes, shoe horns, shoe trees and a framed photo for the office will also be good. To keep his feet warm on cold winter days and nights, add a pair of slippers and warm socks. Men who tend to lose combs like having some spares. Add razors, shaving cream and other grooming items.
Handy Stocking Stuffers
There’s always a need for batteries, so stuff his stocking with an assortment of batteries for his games and equipment. An all-in-one screwdriver will come in handy at home, the office or in the car. He’ll appreciate a tire gauge that he can keep in his glove compartment or trunk. Other items to consider are a corkscrew, flashlights in various sizes, pens, pencils and a pocket calculator.
Travel Items
For men who travel for work or pleasure, include maps of his favorite towns and regions. Get him a travel toothbrush and toothpaste. Add other toiletries in smaller sizes to fit in his travel kit.
Fun and Games
Don’t forget to add some fun to the man’s stocking. He’ll smile when he sees a stack of word searches, miniature puzzles and handheld electronic games. To make him laugh, include an egg of Silly Putty, a Slinky and one of his old favorite comic books.
Food Stocking Stuffers
Don’t forget to bake his favorite cookies. Add a pack of candy, nuts, fruit or some Moose Munch from Harry and David for a man who likes to snack.
